As reflection of our continued growth we have an exciting opportunity to join our operations team as the Sr. Communications Manager, Engagement & Culture. This is a critical role responsible for building communications initiatives to support and help drive our culture and Human Resources organization. Reporting into the VP of Communications, the Sr Manager will support employee engagement such as our Employee Value Proposition (People Promise), HR Communications, the employee engagement survey process and action planning, and corporate responsibility programs like our Healthy Mouth Movement program both internally and externally. This role will be critical to drive awareness and engagement in key companywide culture initiatives to help bring our behaviors and values to life for employees. This person should be a passionate believer and expert in employee communications who is eager to join a dynamic, fast-paced environment that is continually growing and transforming in service of our patients. For this role, it is especially important to have an interest and understanding of the intersection between HR and communications – and the ways that effective storytelling can help create an inspiring and meaningful end-to-end experience for employees.


  • Develops and drives the roll-out of Aspen Dental’s Employee Value Proposition (People Promise) and supports local implementation strategies with the HR community
  • Helps support the promotion of our employer brand both internally and external in conjunction with the head of social media and head of external communications.
  • Serves as the liaison and spokesperson for the human resource leadership team, providing collaborative guidance and advice on integrated communication strategies to build employee morale, productivity, retention, and policy compliance.
  • Communicates initiatives and deadlines to employees in a variety of print, digital, and interpersonal ways; tasks may include creating and publishing company newsletters, calendars, blogs and Intranet posts, and hosting meetings.
  • Support development and execution of strategic HR communications plans that both inform and inspire employees, creating a more streamlined experience by helping them “connect the dots” and more easily understand and access our world-class HR offerings.
  • Support management by creating a calendar of HR communications by partnering with internal stakeholders across the HR organization. This should be done in partnership with the broader communications function to ensure the content and cadence of HR communications aligns with the broader communications activities and rhythms of the company.
  • Oversees roll-out and communications of any internal surveys and actions taken because of employee feedback via the Employee Engagement Survey conducted annually.
  • Supports HR on communicating significant organizational changes and appointments.
  • Is recognized as an expert in providing strategic communications solutions to key communications issues.
  • Acts as a creative and strategic thinker, capable of consulting with leaders to develop and implement communications strategies across various media including traditional and social media.
  • Partners with the Chief HR Officer to plan cadence of team and culture communications.
  • Partners with other leaders on the communications team to ensure consistent messaging.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in internal communications for a nationally dispersed workforce. Experience working within HR and/or partnering with HR is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of key HR organizational roles, functions, and responsibilities within a large national company.
  • Passionate and excited about the intersection between HR and communications, and excited to jump in each day to make meaningful contributions to our employees’ experience at ADMI.
  • Comfortable and effective in serving as a strategic communications partner to HR subject matter experts; able to confidently offer ideas and contribute to communication plans.
  • Experience in social media and external communications a plus.
  • Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills required.
  • Strong management, strategic planning, and goal setting.
