The Compliance & Risk Management Specialist is responsible for various tasks to support both ADMI, Aspen Dental-branded practices, and Five Star-branded practices.


  • Devise and monitor systems and processes to ensure timely reporting to the liability carriers to add and remove providers from the liability policies, along with make changes when needed to locations and names.
  • Gather performance information, produce reports, and make recommendations on changes to systems, processes and malpractice insurance workflows.
  • Collaborate and support the Credentialing Department by supplying liability certificates for general dentistry and specialists timely.  
  • Be available to Dentists, Specialists, Doctors and Clinical Affiliates for consultation and advisement on matters involving malpractice insurance.
  • Develop and issue tail invoices, and collect payments from dentists and specialists.
  • Analyze tail insurance payroll deduction opportunities and remain up to date on state payroll deduction regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with Payroll on the collection of tail insurance premiums from paychecks when permissible.
  • Monitor dentist’s payroll deduction form completion rates. Follow-up when appropriate.
  • Monitor gaps in tail insurance collection and develop systems for ensuring a high collection rate.
  • Support Specialists with the payment of insurance premiums and update/collect insurance certificate renewals.
  • Manage the small claims process for Urgent Care providers/entities. 
  • Report all applicable Urgent Care events and claims to the insurance carrier(s).
  • Create and maintain data in information systems or databases.
  • Assist with the implementation of compliance or risk management initiatives.
  • Facilitate and or participate with ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Actively develop relationships and work collaboratively with cross functional groups.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum daily guidance.
  • Develop solutions to problems independently and collaboratively.

Minimum Education and Experience


  • Associates degree and 3-5 years’ compliance or risk management experience.
  • Related healthcare experience a plus.
  • Computer proficiency with all Microsoft Office products.
  • Basic knowledge and experience managing a variety of state and federal healthcare compliance and regulatory matters including: HIPAA, OSHA, CDC and HHS
  • Experience with Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS)
  • Presentation skills and ability to speak in a training setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulatory agency rules and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to multi task and remain adaptable to changing needs.
